Let it Snow!

I pulled out retired stamp set of mine to make this card, Stampin' UP!'s Cold Play.  This set was so much fun and the "let it snow!" sentiment is so cute, I had to pull it back out.  Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week is Winter Wonderland which I combined with The Paper Players Sketch Challenge to come up with this wintery card.

I started with a base of Marina Mist cardstock then I layered a Night Of Navy piece of cardstock.  The Night of Navy piece was embossed using the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder then Whisper White Craft Ink was sponged on top.  The "Snow" at the bottom of the card is just Whisper White cardstock with one torn edge and coated in Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

The Snow man is 3 circles, 1 3/8", 1 1/4" and 1" in Whisper White then spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  I used one of the small circles on the Owl Builder Punch to make his buttons and the face was drawn on with Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Markers.  Basic Rhinestone Jewels embellish the snowman.

The small Silver Snowflake in the corner was made using the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die  and the Silver Glimmer Paper.  I LOVE the glimmer paper!  It really adds sparkle to the project!  I used another Basic Rhinestone Jewel to adorn the snowflake and colored with a Marina Mist Marker.

One of our family traditions for the day and weekend after Thanksgiving is for my mother-in-law, daughter and I  to make a Ginger Bread House.  In the past we have made a Gingerbread Village, a castle, and a Victorian House.  This year we decided to make Strawberry Shortcake's Village because my daughter LOVES that show.  Here's some pictures of our little creation:

Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Shaker Card

I was inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments to make this Fall-themed Shaker Card. It is designed to look like the window in their photo.

I used a window sheet to keep the "leaves" shaking inside.  The leaves are the middle parts of the Triple Layer Boquet Blossoms Punch.  The vase is the Ornament Punch, and the flowers are from the Boho Blossoms Punch.  I used Crystal Effects around the window frame to give it shine.
To enclose the shaker card, I used the edge of the Stampin' Dimensionals to seal between the window sheet and card front.

Fun Card Swaps

I made these cards for a demonstrator card-swap recently.  It was so much fun to receive cards from so many different stamp sets and from other demonstrators.  One of my customers wants to do a card swap at one of my classes and I think it would be fun!  Hopefully we will be able to begin class swaps; I sure enjoyed this one!

The first set I signed up to make a card for was the Little Friends Stamp Set.  The kids in this set are so adorable!

I used the Friskars Paper Crimper to add dimension to the layers of cardstock.  The Pear Pizzazz Cardstock is done horizontally and the Peach Parfait is done vertically.

Nursery Rhymes was the second set I signed up for.  The little dish and spoon are great for a wedding, birthday, or kids card. I left my card blank so it could be used for any occasion someone wants;).

The idea for the Dish and Spoon matting was to have them look almost as if they are running right off of the card.

Happy Stampin!

Birthday Banner Fun

I have this week off of my "day job" so I am spending at least a couple of days stamping!

Birthday cards are always in short supply, so I combined The Paper Players sketch challenge with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Banner Bash Challenge.  Lately, my favorite thing to use is Designer Series Paper to add a little pizzazz to my cards.

The Paper Players Sketch Challenge (PP60) is to use this sketch:

And Hand Stamped Sentiments has "Banner Bash" which is to use any kind of Banner on the card (HSSBB).  This is what I came up with...
