Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week is to use ruffles or pleats. I combined their challenge with Create with Connie and Mary's great new sketch challenge. Here is the sketch this week:
I am working on my upcoming January Class, which is Valentine's Day, so I thought I could use these challenges to cook up a fun card for the class. First,I embossed the Blushing Bride layer with the Polka Dots Embossing Folder.
The hearts are from the Tiny Tags stamp set, stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Real Red Ink. Then I layered a 1" Circle using Real Red behind. I added a little Stampin UP Dazzling Details Glitter to the hearts for some glitz.
To add some pleats, I cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock at 1/2"x11". Then I scored it using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (how great is this tool!). I scored at 1", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", 4", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 1/2", and 7 1/2". After I folded the pleats and put them on the cardfront, I trimmed the excess off. To finish it off, I used the Tiny Tags "Love" and tag stamp and punched it out. I added a little Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine to tie it to the card and a little piece of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (from the Occassions Mini 2012). The bottom edging was cut using the Adorning Accents Edgelits in the Big Shot (from the Occassions Mini 2012).
Check out the challenge websites for more ideas!
