Fun with a Color Challenge and a Fancy Fold Challenge

What fun are the colors Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black together?!? I never really thought to use these colors together but they are stunning! The color challenge comes from Create with Connie and Mary (http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/) Challenge # CCMC161 and the Fancy Fold Challenge comes from Hand Stamped Sentiments (http://www.handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/) Challenge #78.

I just received my demonstrator order and I finally bought a few things I had been looking at for a while...the Jewerly Tag punch and Tiny Tags stamp set along with the Paper Daisies!  The Paper Daisies, what a fun product to use, by the way:) were dyed in a small amount of water with about 5-6 drops of Daffodil Delight's Classic Ink Refill.  I have to experiment a little though to see if I can find a better way to dye the paper flowers as I had a little trouble with the paper becoming too weak.

The black background was textured using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, but unfortunately it did not show up very well in the photo.

To check out the other cards made for these challenges, check out http://www.handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/ and http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/.

How to do this fold:
Cut a normal card of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at the normal 4 1/2" but use as a horizontal card.  Cut a piece of cardstock at 5 1/4" x 7". Score at 4" and 6".  Fold so the 4" x 5 1/4" will adhere to the card front and the 1" flap will be on top.  When adhering the 2" x 5 1/4" flap, be sure only to adhere along the sides so that a gift card or extra embellishment may be tucked into the folder.  Decorate and Embellish:)!

How to do the Scallop Trim "Ribbon":
Cut a piece of cardstock 1/2" wide by 5 1/4" long.  Punch along one of the long sides.  Flip the piece of cardstock over and punch along the opposite long side trying to start in the same place you did on the first side so that the images line up to create ovals.

Have a great weekend!!
