Cupcakes, Cupcakes, CUPCAKES!!!

Who doesn't love a good cupcake for a birthday?!?  The wonderful sketch for this card comes from Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge, CCMC170, and the fun colors come from Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge, HSS#87.

At first when I saw the color challenge of Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and Cherry Cobbler I had no idea how to put them together and make it work. As I started playing with it though, the colors became very birthday-party festive;).

For the background, I used the hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes in Night of Navy Ink to create a subtle look.  Then I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create the horizontal lines on the strip of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.  For the "bow" I took a piece of Hemp Twine and wound it around 2 of my fingers then tied a knot in it.  I used a Mini-Glue dot to secure it to the cardfront.  Next I used 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon and Glue Dots to create the "bow".  Then I added a cherry on top using the Cupcake Builder Punch and decorated it with some Dazzling Details glitter.

Don't forget to check out http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/ and http://www.handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/ to see the other projects for this challenge!

As a little sneak peek for my class attendees here is another card we will be making for the October Class.

The ornament is from Tags Til Christmas and are stamped in Versa Mark Ink then Embossed with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.  The colored Embossing Powder is so beautiful; I am glad I finally bought one!

Happy Stamping!
