Waterfall Cards

So lately I have really got on this Waterfall Technique card kick.  I really love the movement!  So, here are some examples of the different waterfall cards I made recently.  For a tutorial on waterfall cards, click here to go to Split Coast Stamper's tutorial.

The first two cards show are in the lineup for my first club meeting:).  I am very excited to share these with my new club members.
This waterfall card was made using Stampin' UP!'s Nature Walk Stamp set.  The colors are Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla.  I was going for a card that could be for either a man or a woman.  I used the Houndstooth Embossing Folder from Stampin' UP!
I love all of the little monsters from Stampin' UP!'s Make a Monster stamp set and I thought this would be a great way to showcase the stamp set.  The colors for this card are Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.  The background was done using the Stripes Embossing Folder from Stampin' UP!

In-Color Butterflies

Hello everyone!  I have been working on projects using new products from the 2012-2013 Stampin’ UP! Catalog and I wanted to share some of my creations!  Here is another card I’m posting…keep checking back as I plan on posting quite a few more new cards!

I am not putting a ton of directions on these posts in order to save time, but if you have a specific question, leave me a comment and I will get back to you.   I am posting quite a few pictures though so hopefully between those and the list of ingredients, it works pretty well :).
This card uses the new Papillion Potpourri Stampin’ UP! stamp set and coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch.   The color combination for this card is just all of the new 2012-2014 In-Colors and Whisper White.  I used the new In-Color Dahlias to add a little pop to the Gumball Green butterfly.

Papillion Potpourri Card Ingredients:
*All products used are Stampin’ UP! unless otherwise noted*
Stamps:                Papillion Potpourri
Cardstock:           Whisper White & Gumball Green
Ink:                        Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green & Midnight Muse

Papillion Potpourri Card

The color combination for this card came right out of the Stampin’ UP! Color Coach – what a handy tool!  The Summer Starfruit new In-Color for the 2012-2014 years was the inspiration for making this card.  I also love our expanded collection of Framelits!  They are so easy to store and use and for about the same price as one Big Shot Die, you get multiple shapes.  I used the Bitty Banners Framelits on this card with the coordinating Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set.

Lately, Stampin’ UP! has been encouraging demonstrators to take a card that would be useable during a class or workshop and then “Step-It-UP” using more layers, embellishments, and tools.  So I took this card and “Stepped-It-UP” using Vintage Designer Faceted Buttons (SO PRETTY!), more layers, and a few more tools.

Papillion Potpourri Card Ingredients:

*All products used are Stampin’ UP! unless otherwise noted*
Stamps:                Papillion Potpourri & Itty Bitty Banners
Cardstock:           Baja Breeze, Summer Starfruit, Elegant Eggplant & Whisper White
Ink:                        Summer Starfruit, Elegant Eggplant & Baja Breeze
Tools:                    Big Shot, Bitty Banners Framelits & Fancy Fan Embossing Folder
Punches:             1 3/8” Circle Punch & Elegant Butterfly Punch
Misc:                     Stampin’ Dimensionals

“Step-It-UP” Version:    Fabulous Phrases, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Modern Label Punch & 1” Square Punch

Circle Circus Easel Card

Over at Create with Connie and Mary this week, they are celebrating their 100th challenge!  Congratulations to Connie, Mary and their talented design team!  In celebration, their challenge this week is to make a celebratory card with current Designer Series Paper and a banner.  I decided to make a birthday card, because we celebrate those all the time and I have a very special little girl turning 5 this week!  My daughter already laid claim to this card since she liked it so much:)~!

I've been trying out some new techniques for the Stampin' Club I am hoping starts soon, so I made a square easel card.  I used Stampin' UP!'s Circle Circus stamp set to make the stamped image of my card.  For designer series paper, I used the current hostess paper, Cheerful Treat.  I pulled out the Pink Pirouette, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White from the designer series paper.
For the Banner, I used the Word Window Punch from Stampin' UP! to punch out the "Happy Birthday" image (which came from SU! Create a Cupcake Stamp Set). To tie it all together I added Whisper White Ribbon and Basic Rhinestones.
Lately, I have been trying to make at least 2 of each card I design (you know so I can keep one and give the other away!).  I wanted to change this card up a bit though, so this is what I came up with for the second card using most of the same products.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the challenge website, http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/create-with-connie-and-mary/ to see tons of great examples!

Nursery Times Challenge

I loved the sketch over at The Paper Players so much this week, I made 2 cards using it!  Here is the second card.
I wanted something gender neutral that I could give at a baby shower so I used Stampin' UP!'s Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper and pulled out the Pear Pizzazz, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White colors.
The bottom border of the welcome baby section was done using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and Adorning Accents Embossing Folder. I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the sentiment and Nursery Times for the image.
For the main image, I colored it in very lightly using Water Color Crayons.  I used the Extra Large Oval Punch for the image to be punched out and the Decorative Label Punch.  Using Crystal Effects and Stampin UP! Dazzling Details glitter I  tried to make the image stand out more.  I added a little bit of White Baker's Twine to add interest.

Don't forget to go to the challenge website to see the design team's creations and other challenge competitors:)~

Telescoping Card

After a bit of a break, I am so happy to be back on Blogger:)!!  I have been very busy lately preparing for a new addition to our family:)!  This little baby I am carrying is making me very tired though so I haven't had the energy to post to my blog as often as I would like.

I really liked the Paper Players  challenge # 92 sketch this week so I actually made 2 cards from it!  The first card is also for Hand Stamped Sentiments Spring challenge #115.

I used Stampin' UP!'s Flower Fancy stamp set to make this card.  It is retiring and I am so sad! However, it is the perfect time to order the set though!  I used the Telescoping Card technique for this card.  Here is a link to the Split Coast Stampers Tutorial - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/telescopingcard/.
I wanted elegant colors for this card, so I used Elegant Eggplant, Marina Mist and Whisper White.  For the background, I used the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder in the Big Shot.  The border was done using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  To add a little interest  I added 1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon and a Rhinestone.
The bottom layer of the "Telescope" was made using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
The middle layer uses the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  The bottom layer is the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch and the 1" Circle Punch,
I colored the images in using the Regals Collection of Watercolor Crayons and an Aqua Painter. I added Stampin' UP!'s Dazzling Details Glitter and Crystal Effects.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the challenge websites!

DinoROAR...(FMS 22)

Freshly Made Sketches has another great clean sketch challenge this week.  I decided to make a boys card because I am always lacking in them.  Here is the sketch:
I love the DinoRoar Stampin UP Stamp Set.  It is so fun to color in:). I wanted bold, fun colors so I used Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade then Soft Suede and Whisper White to blend it all together.
To add a little interest to the card, I used Lucky Limeade (new to the Occasions Mini 2012 catalog) to tie on an Old Olive button.
For the dinosaur image, I used Watercolor Crayons - Soft Suede, Garden Green, Sahara Sand and Night of Navy.
The sides needed something, so I used the Houndstooth Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to add dimension.

Make sure you check out the challenge website:
