The Paper Players Sketch Challenge # 57

I had a few hours to myself today (which is a very rare occurrence!), so I decided to take advantage of that to complete a challenge card.  Today's challenge is a sketch from The Paper Players. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I just recently earned this stamp set for free and I really enjoy using it.  I have used the large flower stamp for backgrounds and for the main images.  The bird is adorable too, and the saying is great for cards or in scrapbooks so I've also been using those quite often.  To get the shimmer on the flower image and bird, I sprayed both with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  The photo does not do that product justice!  It adds just a touch of elegant glimmer to the images.

Hope you enjoy it!

Two Challenges in one today!

Last Night I made this card for the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge #160 and the Hand Stamped Sentiments Flourish Challenge #77.

Here is the sketch challenge:
Here is my card:

I used Stampin' UP! products including the Forever Young Stamp Set.  I love this set!  It is so versatile because it can be made vintage, the tree with the child can be a child's card, or it can be dressed up for adults:).  I really enjoyed these challenges because it helped me use layers in a way I usually don't by making them be skewed to the sides.  Also, I love flourishes so that was an easy element for me to want to add.

How to:  I stamped the clock from Forever Young with Marina Mist on Whisper White Cardstock two times.  Then I cut out one of the clocks using a Paper Snips and the second clock I punched out the clock face using the 1" Circle Punch.  After I taped down the cut-out clock, I punched a blossom using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  To make it a little smaller, I spritzed it with water and crinkled it up a bit so it fit closer to the circle.  Then I layer the 1" clock face over the blossom, punched a hole in them and added the brad.  I then used a dimensional to pop it up on the clock face.

Paper Players Challenge #56

The Paper Players’ Challenge this week was to use the following sketch:

I am working through using all of my new stamp sets from the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog, so today I used Little Princess.  I bought this set because my 4-year old daughter asked for it – she is my little stampin’ buddy so it was hard to say no to her!  As this is “her set”, I used her favorite colors, Tempting Turqouise and Pretty In Pink.  I love our ribbon so I had to add that!

Here is my interpretation of the sketch, a little girl's card:
